she blends with the snow
making her beautiful without the light,
shadows dissolved remind her
he was there before
and then the sky went blue
contagious expectations of
pain, goosebumps rising on her
skin but she can't feel it,
cant feel the sting
on her toes or the wind
clawing at her stained
cheeks. the sky is blue
but she is bluer.
and her hair
lovely mascara strands
brushing along her inside
stroking her heart a natural black,
she will forget him
as soon as the water drains from the earth
and her tears refuse to shine
breathless cascade of yesterday's
smiles, swirling lullaby of twisted
words that used to fall from his lips
like candy, her sugared candy
loveliness, his heart a cookie jar
that she couldn't resist stealing from.
and how all is emptiness,
blue and heartless silver
moonlight.

I sense others in the room
Opie, Aunt Bea I presume
They take turns and cut me up
